Bailey's Espresso Creme
It looks incredibly similar to the original Bailey's when you get your chance to see the liquid. It smells quite appetising from the moment you open the bottle. The best way we could describe it would be the same scent as a dare double espresso iced coffee, but three times more noticeable. It is very creamy, you'll notice this by the shear thickness and volume of the liquid. It is quite sweet until the moment you swallow, when the taste turns to espresso very similar to an iced coffee and sneaks in a chocolate milk sweetness vibe before disappearing into an espresso based aftertaste.
This is quite a simple shot to try and very appetising. If you're a tradie and/or like dare iced coffees (or any other iced coffee brand for that matter) then you're going to love this. You definitely don't need to mix it at all, maybe add some ice to add a little bit of space to the thickness.
The Bar Test
As you pour the coke into the Bailey's Espresso Creme, you'll see the froth appear as it turns into a weird light coloured version of a Guinness. After a few moments to settle it looks like more of a coke spider with ice. It still produces the same welcoming scent though.
The foam tastes like a chocolate milk with a coffee after taste, but you'll be welcomed to a lovely coffee coke flavour once you reach the more coke based liquid. It's actually really nice on the palate, but the ice makes it a little annoying to put in your mouth for fear of the milky foam sticking to your face. 10 / 10 would drink again though. It remains very sweet and strangely chocolatey with the espresso only really appearing if it is focused in the coke part separately. We recommend drinking the chocolate tasting foam early because the longer it sits the more it losing its nice texture and becomes a weird slimy concoction.
Very cheap and tastes pretty great on its own. Definitely worth a drink! If you want to put it in a cocktail, just like the original Bailey's it has a lot of uses, it tastes great by itself or with ice and surprisingly it tastes really good with coke. If you drink it with coke - we recommend either anywhere from 1-3 shots of coke, ice is good, but we preferred about 3 shots with no ice.
- Looks pretty much the same as normal Bailey's, but with a slight bubbly line on top - similar to the crema atop a coffee. Smells the same as the shot. tastes very strongly of espresso with a coke taste sneaking in, in the middle.
- Tastes more like chocolate milk here with a lot more of the coke taste appearing. Visually the bubbly line on top is thicker and there is a light colourless coke section at the bottom.
- Much stronger coke taste, but it has reverted to the strong coffee taste, similar to what we would imagine a sweet iced coffee soft drink would taste like. There's a chocolate milk after taste. Thicker bubble line on top. Definitely three layers forming: bubbles, bailey's and colourless coke.
- It mostly tastes like coke, but there is still a bit of coffee taste and a chocolate milk aftertaste. It has become two distinct layers: bubbles on top and light coloured coke liquid on the bottom with Bailey's streaking through the two. The foam does take on a muddy like texture after sitting a little bit.
